You are not alone, and group therapy helps remind you of that. At New Horizon Behavioral Care, group therapy provides a supportive space where individuals come together to share experiences, learn from one another, and grow through guided discussion and encouragement.
Group therapy brings together 6 to 10 participants in a structured session guided by a licensed therapist. Each meeting focuses on meaningful topics such as recovery, communication, relationships, emotional regulation, trauma, and relapse prevention.
In this supportive setting, you can openly share your thoughts, learn from others’ experiences, and practice healthy coping strategies while building genuine connections with people who truly understand what you’re going through.
Each group is led by a trained facilitator who ensures structure, emotional safety, and respectful participation for everyone involved.
There is something powerful about realizing you are not the only one facing a particular struggle. Hearing someone else describe an experience that feels familiar can ease shame and make it easier to open up. Group members often learn just as much from each other as they do from the facilitator since peers can offer perspective that comes from lived experience rather than only clinical training. At New Horizon Behavioral we have seen many clients build some of their strongest recovery relationships through group work.
Our parenting and family reunification groups give parents a space to work through the unique pressures of rebuilding trust with their children or navigating CPS involvement. These sessions focus on practical parenting skills emotional regulation and communication strategies that support healthier family relationships. Many parents find it helpful to connect with others who understand the specific challenges of working toward reunification while also meeting court or case requirements.
